How Myo MLD™ is different to Lymphatic Drainage

What you’re taught in college about lymphatics and massage is limited to treating people with healthy functioning lymphatic systems. Called Lymphatic Massage, it’s generally used to aid detoxification.

Debilitated lymphatic conditions — which are more common than you might think — needs special techniques to treat them. This is what we cover in this Myofunctional Manual Lymphatic Drainage training course.

Myo MLD™ training provides you the knowledge and skills to help you treat clients with both minor pathologies and complex lymphatic pathologies, as well as detoxification. Once you’ve successfully completed the course, you’ll be able to provide a much-needed service to those members of the community with lymphatic congestive issues.

What if you already have lymphatic drainage training?

Every form of Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) training offers their own variation, based on the original MLD work developed by Dr Emil Vodder and his wife Estrid in the 1930s.

The protocols I teach in my Myo MLD™ course have been developed from my training in both the Vodder technique and Foldi therapy. A unique component of my course is that I have developed a technique which places major emphasis on the practitioner’s wellbeing. Careful body positioning ensures the longevity of the practitioner’s career.

The Myo MLD™ training is a comprehensive online training program. You can choose to take just the Foundation course (Level 1) or extend this training and in addition learn more Complex Lymphatic Pathologies in the Advanced package course (Level 1 plus Level 2). Overview of Myo MLD Courses

When you sign up for Myo MLD™ training, you’ll be provided with instructions on how to access the Private Training Portal. This gives you access to all of the training information you need to begin learning Myo MLD™. You can begin Module 1 right away.

Included in each module are a number of video presentations or video demonstrations together with downloadable content, plus you have the monthly webinar and email access to your instructor. All the support and information you need to succeed with Myo MLD™.

Assessment Expectations

In addition to watching the videos, reading and taking notes, you will need to practice what you learn. You will be required to do a minimum of 5 hours practice for Myo MLD™ Foundation and a minimum of 10 hours total practice for Myo MLD™ Advanced. As proof of practice, you’ll be provided with a printable logbook that you need to complete and send in for assessment.

There is also an online questionnaires that require completion at the end of Foundation modules and at the end of Advanced modules. When you have successfully completed the assessment tasks you will be supplied with an printable Certificate of Completion.

Certificate of Completion

In order to receive your Myo MLD™ Certificate of Completion you will need to show proof of completion for the various assessment tasks, which included logbook practice and assessment questionnaire.
